Description

I thought it was prehaps about time I posted something on DA and thus I decided upon showing off the Schimitar I bought at Medival times in Canada^^
it's about 1 meters long, made of iron (or something) so the weight and feel of the weapon is very authentic =)

This is one of the most popular models out there. The blade is carbon steel for strength and flexibility, but makes it prone to rust. Also, I'm not sure if its full tang, so beware of using it for anything other than display or bushwacking. Full tang means that the metal of the blade continues through to the end of the handle. This particular type of scimitar is called the Kilij. The long curve grants the sword magnificent slashing capability, but hinders its thrust ability dramatically. Whatever you do with it, be careful. Not everyone is an expert like me.
